๐Ÿƒ Changes in CBSE class 10th Boards assessment structure ๐Ÿ“ฐ


One section consisting of 80 marks and the other consisting of 20 marks. The written board exam will hold the major portion while the minor part will be in the hands of the schools.

✅ External Assessment

Following are the points to be noted with regards to CBSE Class 10th Boards from the Academic Year 2017-18 :

In the Board examination, the student has to secure 33% marks out of 80 in each subject. In internal assessment, the student has to secure 33% marks out of overall 20 marks in each subject.
For the two linguistic subjects, Science, Mathematics, Social Science, the Board will conduct Class 10th Boards for 80 marks in each subject covering 100% syllabus of the subject of Class X only. Marks and Grades both will be awarded for Individual subjects. 9-point grading will be same as followed by the Board in Class XII.

✅ Internal Assessment

The division of Internal Assessment marks would be as follows-

10 marks – Periodic Test, which will be restricted to three in an academic year. For the final submission of marks, the average of best two subjects would be considered.
5 marks – Notebook Submission, which will cover regularity, assignment completion and neatness and upkeep of notebook.
5 marks – Subject Enrichment Activity – which will cover speaking and listening skills, practical lab work for subjects like Science, maths lab practical, map work and project work for social science subjects.
